History

In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation of his vodka. Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. Papillon Vodka is made the same way. Since the process will never change, neither will the true taste of Papillon Vodka.

Papillon Vodka is made from water and grapes from Villevert, France in the renowned Bordeaux wine region. The water comes from a deep well in Villevert where it’s protected from impurities. The grapes are specially selected for harvest and differ from other crops as they are first made into a wine. The wine is distilled four times in column stills. In the fifth distillation, Papillon Vodka is truly created in a traditional, tailor-made copper pot still at the historic Distillerie de Chevanceaux in the South of France.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Parts Papillon Principal
  • 8 Black Truffles
  • 1 Part Pear Nectar
  • 1/2 Part Pear Brandy
  • 1 Spray of Truffles Essence

Preparation:

  • To infuse vodka: add sliced black truffles into bottle of 70cl (750 ml US) Papillon Principal for 1 week at room temperature.
  • In a cocktail shaker, shake and strain all ingredients.
  • Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  • Spray the truffle essence on top.
